While interesting and macabre, the Sedlec Ossuary will take about 20 minutes of your time and you’ll feel disappointed if you took the train from Prague just to see this. Origins of the Bone Church. The chapel has a long history, beginning in 1142 when a Cistercian monastery was founded in Sedlec. One of the tasks of the monks was the cultivation of the grounds around the monastery.
